LatinX Research Paths

Are you enrolled at the Jacobs School of Engineering?

Do you want to do research at UCSD but you have no experience? Join this program to navigate your path to research.

The Research Paths for Latinx Students serves new Jacobs School of Engineering students, while emphasizing the Latinx experience. The program gives priority to transfer students from community college (freshmen can also enroll upon availability) who have little to none research experience and would like to start navigating the route towards doing research as undergraduate students.

The greatest value of UC San Diego is its research activity, being a world top-class research university. Its faculty are world renowned research leaders across different disciplines.  Research activities give students the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge that cannot be acquired in a classroom and that is driven by the student's own desire to discover new knowledge and technologies.

This program will go from Fall to Spring aiming to give information and skills that can help students to enroll into research activities. This program will be aside from main classes. The plan for Fall, Winter and Spring goes as follows:

Fall 2020:  What is research? Duration: Six 1-hour (Saturday) sessions through the  quarter.
